Where to Start

Are you starting a group with people who are new to the Bible?

Level 1 Bible Discussion Guides provide a great entry point. (The number of discussions for each guide is shown after each title.)

  1. Mark: Discover Jesus (18) will give your group a complete, concise account of the life of Jesus. If you have group members who are learning English or who would benefit from simpler, shorter sentences, use The Book of Mark: The Story of Jesus—Simplified English (19).
  2. Conversations with Jesus (8) or They Met Jesus (8) will give your group a shorter starting point option. Groups that start in the spring often find this to be a good option, and then in the fall they may move to a study in Mark.
  3. The Passion of Jesus (6) is a great starting point leading up to Easter.
  4. Genesis can be a starting point that works well for people from Jewish or Muslim backgrounds.
  5. Foundations for Faith (6) provides an overview of the message of the Bible, from Genesis to Jesus.
  6. Finding Peace in an Anxious World (6) leads through Scriptures dealing with anxiety and provides insight into the character and care of God.

Q Place Resources by Level lists the books by level and includes the number of discussions in each guide.
